Dear CSSD Tournament Participants:

The staff, teachers, and coaches of the Ohio School for the Deaf welcome the Basketball and Cheerleading Squads from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota Metro, Pennsylvania, St. Rita, and Wisconsin to the 2012 competitions!  We hope you all have a pleasant experience in Ohio. I know you value vigorous competition and will enjoy socialization experiences with your peers from across the Midwest region during the next few days.

The CSSD tournament has been a tie among deaf schools and programs with deaf students for many years. All students look forward to meeting new friends from other states and renewing friendships from previous years, regardless of which school hosts the event. This will be a special tournament with energetic play, spirited competition, and exemplary sportsmanship. We thank you for making the trip to OSD and for keeping the tradition of CSSD alive.

It is privilege for me to welcome you. I applaud coaches and players for the dedication you’ve shown to prepare yourselves for this tournament.  I know your effort has required work in and outside of the classroom.  You certainly represent each of your programs very well indeed.
