Hello to our incoming students, families, and Ohio School for the Deaf (OSD) staff. School starts tomorrow and we are very excited at all that is to come in the 2015-2016 school year. This week we welcomed our returning and new staff, who are all eagerly awaiting the students arrival on Monday, August 17.
Before you come back this week, we wanted to let you know of a few changes in staffing that were recently finalized. Denyse Woods, former Elementary and Middle School Principal, has taken on some new responsibilities. She will be overseeing the Pre-School programs for the OSD and Ohio State School for the Blind (OSSB) and will be the Director for the Outreach Departments at both OSD and OSSB, in addition to continuing as Interim Superintendent at OSSB. I will continue on as the Superintendent of OSD, but will also be acting as the Elementary and Middle School Principal at OSD. Both of us are looking forward to the new opportunities and challenges that come with these responsibilities, but share the focus of continuing to provide the best education for OSD students.
We know that you may have some questions with these changes, but please know that we are always open to speaking with students, parents and others at anytime. This next school year is shaping up to even better than last year and we are excited to see all of you on campus today for registration day.
